Focus timer

Get more done with less stress

The Pomodoro method: focus for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after 4 rounds enjoy a longer 15-minute rest. Simple, and it really works.

Focus sessions:
01
One task at a time

Multitasking feels busy but slows you down. Pick one task for each focus session.

02
Phone out of reach

Put it in another room or on silent. Even seeing your phone can pull your attention away.

03
Hardest task first

Do the task you're avoiding while your energy is highest β€” usually in the morning.

04
The 2-minute rule

If something takes less than 2 minutes, do it now instead of adding it to your list.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. You work on one task in a short, timed block, then take a planned break. Short blocks make big tasks feel more manageable and the breaks give your mind a chance to reset.

How to use this timer

  • Pick one task before you press start.
  • Work until the 25-minute focus session ends.
  • Take the 5-minute break: stand up, stretch or walk around.
  • After four focus sessions, take the 15-minute long break.

Use your breaks to move

Short breaks are a good time to get up from your desk. A few minutes of walking adds up over a day; see our guide to building a walking routine. To keep track of your other healthy habits, use our daily habit tracker.
